Tonic - You Wanted More

I dont know when I got bitter
Love is sure better when it's gone
Because you wanted more
More than I could give
More than I could handle
And a life that I can't live

1 Patrick Stump & Daryl Hall - Sugar We're Going Down (Live From Daryl's...

i immensely enjoyed this, even without Pete Wentz on the video :)

i love Hall & Oates ever since i was a child, thanks to Mama Rose for introducing their music to me :)

and although i miss Pete Wentz & FOB very much, Patrick Stump makes up for it with this collab :)

Apple's V Day ad

just my two cents...
i just feel like they didn't need to do this ad.
yeah, every company/product needs to do some follow ups,
some follow through campaign
but apple is apple.
it's apple.

and WTH with the engraving??
...and the signature gift wrapping??
lols
it's so baduy. srsly.

the visual is blah.
just doesn't do justice to what apple is.
or was.

Troy's Photography

sound so real and so exciting! bagay na bagay..

i think Troy really likes cameras and taking pictures, so i'm thinking of putting up a Flickr account or Tumblr or Blogspot account featuring only Troy's photos -- photos he took and photos i took all under his careful direction/dictation.

hmm.

Paved paradise: SM Baguio and the logging ban

“They paved paradise and put up a parking lot.”

That's in the lyrics of a Joni Mitchell song that talks about her experiences in Hawaii looking out at a spectacular vista, then looking down into a gray parking lot.

The citizens of Baguio city, once labelled as the city of Pines, have in the past week been up in arms about the plans of mall network SM to do just that - pave over an existing forest and turn it into a parking lot.

This news comes just a month after the devastation in Cagayan de Oro and the multiple floods that have prompted the current administration to declare a total log ban across the country in response to the multiple extreme climatic events that have devastated many parts of the region. Including the city of Baguio, which has experienced flooding, multiple landslides with loses of life, including just recently a trash slide in the city's dumpsite in Irisan.

What Ateneans Do Wrong After Graduating

I was having dinner with my boss and her husband (all three of us Ateneans) when we talked about the difference with how Gloria and Noynoy sees life. Gloria being the realistic one and Noynoy being the usual, ideal Atenean. Then her husband started narrating about how only few Ateneans become successful in life at the age of 40, with his roster of friends as a perfect example. People at the age of 40 who still don’t own a car and cannot even settle down for once. Or worst, they just realized the right thing to do to become successful but it was too late already. And here are the things we talked about over dinner, and his advice to fresh graduate Ateneans like me. And this made sense, I am telling you. THIS WILL BE MY DIRECTION IN LIFE.

1. Having our heads up “on the hill” a.k.a too much self-esteem/ Atenean pride
The first thing that I realized when I worked is wherever you work, you can never use your school as your ticket to success. It can be an advantage for you at first, but if you only use the school name as your claim to fame, then you’re doomed.

creator

i found this on tumblr
and thought that this is a good reminder of what we try to be.
besides, we were not just to do plain human duties.
we are special.
we are co-creators.
remember, He created us in in his own image and likeness.
so we better do something good and great,
or at least try.

the upcoming events seem exciting....

but i have to start looking for a new job for my sanity's sake.

Holly Valance - Naughty Girl

this song makes me really miss Laus Group and my former Marketing and Communications Department colleagues - Lea, Kit and John. Pati na din yung mga friends from HR Department - Irynn, Sarah, etc :) Syempre pati yung pinaka-boss ko dun, si Sir LPL. i guess, he's the best boss i ever had (so far)

wish i could go back and work there again. or, find a new job with a workplace and workmates that are as equally awesome.

can't believe that my longtime office-partner/friend would possibly work there very soon. sobrang nakakainggit..... pero i'm happy for him. go get 'em, Cyp!

by the way, thanks to Kit for introducing me to this song :)

Glo, Color-changing Nightlight with Portable Glowing Balls - Boon Inc.

It has removable illuminated Glo balls that fade to dark after 30 minutes.
They have nothing electronic in them so they don’t get warm and they won’t break.

ice, buffalo, pasta

i needed some boost of energy today, so i bought a signature iced choco drink from Starbucks.
i think i've really become a Starbucks person.

SB Signature (iced) Chocolate
i used think i liked CBTL better
(or maybe just because we don't have CBTL yet here in Angeles City/Pampanga)

actually, i am not supposed to take cold drinks,
and i was supposed to buy medicine for my colds,
but when i got to the pharmacy i didn't know how much mg i should be buying, haha

***

i cooked buffalo wings for lunch yesterday :)

i swear, it looks a lot yummy-er in real life :)
and i swear that the chicken wings were cooked,
no bloody bones inside.
also, Jep liked it, Mima liked it,
i think Dennie liked it, too
because he also ate it for dinner :D
or maybe he didn't have any choice :p

oh, this is the start of my cooking prowess! =)

next time i'll prepare some sort of baked pasta
just like the ones my Mama used to cook.
